About Shirley
Shirley is a writer and film producer with a deep passion for global storytelling. She is currently producing her first documentary and developing several narrative film projects, including coming-of-age stories and children’s fantasy adventures. Each project is rooted in meaningful storytelling that crosses cultural boundaries.
As the co-founder of Sarvian Media, Shirley recently acquired the rights to Shiniwa, a powerful true story about a wealthy but troubled boy who finds healing among monks in a remote Asian mountain region.
Before entering the world of filmmaking, Shirley built her career in sales and marketing at major Fortune 100 companies, including FedEx and Intel. She later pursued entrepreneurial ventures in both tech and construction management, experiences that continue to shape her creative and business approach. Shirley holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business and is committed to telling authentic, impactful stories that inspire and connect.
Originally born in Canada, Shirley has spent most of her life in the United States. Her parents immigrated from India, and her cultural background plays an important role in her storytelling.

Why SPICE?
SPICE stands for South Asian & Global Perspectives in Cinema and Entertainment. It is the first show produced by Shirley under The Shirley Show, with the goal of supporting other meaningful media initiatives in the future.
Shirley created SPICE after noticing how fragmented the South Asian film community is. Many creators are working in isolation, making it difficult to network, collaborate, or find the right talent for projects. SPICE is her effort to change that. The show provides a platform where filmmakers and content creators can share their stories, talk about their challenges, and connect with others in the industry.
While Shirley is of South Asian descent, SPICE is not limited to South Asians. The show supports global cinema by featuring in-depth interviews with people from across the film ecosystem—writers, directors, cinematographers, producers, actors, investors, distributors, and more. Through SPICE, Shirley hopes to build a space for open conversation, creative exchange, and meaningful connections.
